Good Sunday to you all!!! It’s cloudy and cold here, and I wish it would dump some snow on us!!! I would absolutely LOVE a snow day with my kids…I’m in the mood to go sledding! But, it doesn’t look like we are going to get that lucky today!
I finally finished my Project Life, Week 5 spread! If you remember last week, I felt like my spread was a little to “white.” I think I took care of that this week!
{Verso} in the publishing world, the left side of the spread is called the “verso” side. The self portrait was from me trying to get a decent self-portrait for my One Little Word (moment) album.
Here are some close-ups of the page. The middle cards I added my Week in Review card, a picture of the groceries for the week, the dishes, and a picture of Hunter at lunch.
This picture/journal card was added because every week, Hunter writes a paper, 5 paragraphs, for his Language Arts teacher. It’s amazing to watch how his writing has improved over the school year! I wanted to get a bit more of a “scrappy” feel this week, and this is one slot I did it on.
{Recto} or the right side of the page…I again decided to try a different page protector, and I think I like this one too! Especially if I have a LOT of pictures in a week that I want to include, but don’t necessarily want to add an additional insert. This week, only Friday and Saturday are on this side of the LO. I divided it in half down the middle.
Here is the top slot up close. Molly (my mother-in-law) and I ate at California Pizza Kitchen at lunch. She thought it was hilarious that they deliver by bike….had to get a picture of her with the bike!! I also decided that it was okay to add different colors than the Clementine color scheme that I’ve been working with! I wanted the black and yellow to match the coaster I snagged on the way out! This paper is made by Authentique.
Here are some other details from Friday…the tag was from the new shoes I bought Madysen that were on clearance at Target. I digitally made the “Today Journal Card.”
Here are the kids FINALLY filling out their 2012 Questionaire. LOL It’s only a month late, but at least I did it! I have also discovered that I really like a little something at the bottom of my Instax polaroids. It gives them a little oooomph. Also, the flower I attached the outside of the page protector to add a little dimension.
Here is Saturday. I really wanted to get a little more scrappy here, so if you notice I added a few things and used my sewing machine in one way or another on each of the cards. All of these were taken with Instamatic on my phone. I printed them at like 2.75″ squared.
I really like how these cards turned out! I have had much of my inspiration from blogs and twitter posts I have been reading. In addition, I have been pinning some of my favorite Project Life pages and ideas on my Project Life Board. Go check it out and follow me if you want!
The last thing I did was insert an 8.5″x11″ protector with a couple of things. {one} the 2012 questionaire {two} the Clue score card that Hunter made by hand. I wanted a bit of extra something, so I added a strip of paper where the holes are in the page protector.
So, that is my week 5!
I do have a little something for anyone who wants it!!! As I said earlier, I made the digital journal cards that I used on Friday. They are in the Clementine colors, but can pretty easily be recolored in Photoshop or whatever you use. I made them in both the pink/orange and the blue/grey options…in addition to a Top 10 list!
Well, I’m off to work on Week 6! Heath is tying flies while I scrap..and guess what? It started snowing again while I was posting! Yee Haw!!!
Project Life is a product and a system created by Becky Higgins.
